Eunjung huffed a sigh of relief when Shinwoo stood up. She could finally move freely without feeling so conscious. She was kind of alleviated too that he didn’t seem to notice her fanning her self as her tongue get burnt by the hot latte. She would’ve looked really funny…
“Uh.. yeah. It seemed nice.” She said as she force a smile, trying to make the atmosphere lighter and more comfortable. Well, she just hope that her smile wasn’t so awkward that it looked funny. Well, maybe when she get home she could practice striking a conversation or smiling naturally.
“So, uhm.. how long have you been in the palace?” She asked, trying to break the awkwardness between them. Maybe a little conversation would do it.
Eunjung swung her arm here and there as a yawn escape her mouth. She wasn’t able to get enough sleep last night. She was too preoccupied with a novel that she didn’t even notice that it was already getting late and when she went to bed to take a nap, her mind wouldn’t let her drift to…
Taeyeon was frustrated. The royals were having a very special performance made by her and she couldn’t even get things right. Her eyes closed in anger as she clenched her fists to loosen up her fingers and begin singing again. Immediately, she let out a loud cough and a small whimper from the pain in her throat.
For a long time, the throat strain had affected her gravely. Even being well renowned, no one has heard her sing in ages, and things were just worse when she could barely do so regardless of all the power and hope she had left in her. She clutched the paper in her hand. “I don’t know if I could do this..” She whispered.
“I’m sure you’ll do good.” Eunjung thought that some encouragements would help her feel well and confident about whatever she was rehearsing for. It looks like she was really stressed and worried about it that she was even up at this early just to practice. She just hope that the girl didn’t mind some disturbance though.
Bomi was a little surprised when she heard someone coming toward her. she doesn’t know what else to do. she was like to be alone, but no doubt she needs someone to share her stories. Share my feeling, it will only add to someone else’s burden, let me just feel it alone. Bomi thought. she does not trying to turn her head to see who was there beside her, instead buried her face in her knees.
Miraculously, Bomi do feel more comfortable when she patted her back softly. she felt more relieved. Bomi slowly opened her eyes and stared at the girl. she doesn’t care how her face at that time. Looking at the girl’s gaze is quite soothing; Bomi repeatedly looked at the letter from the mother and the woman.
‘Do not show it to others, “said Bomi quietly and handed her mother’s letter to the girl.
Eunjung was quite taken a back when the little girl handed her the letter. She didn’t quite expect her to speak and open up to her that easily. Honestly, she looks like someone who would most likely to shove her away rather than speak up to her and share her feelings. But Eunjung was glad that she did. It just means that she’s getting better at these stuffs.
She opened the letter which was neatedly folded into four. She couldn’t help but feel a tug on her heart as she read the letter. She looked at the little girl beside her.
“So, Bomi is your name.” Eunjung forced a smile, hoping that she will too.
“You have such a pretty name. You shouldn’t be crying. Your mom’s happy now and I’m sure she wants to see you happy too.”
Bomi looked at the girl beside her and start crying again. Whenever she heard her name called, it just reminds her to her mother. She always said Bomi is the great name. she looked at the girl who returned the letter to her.
‘I guess .. thank you …’ Bomi paused because she didn’t know the girl’s name.
“Oh? Why are you crying? Did I say something wrong?” Eunjung thought she was improving in the field of ‘comfort and condolence.’ Well, she guess not. She rubbed Bomi’s back again as she continue crying. It never is easy to lost someone you really treasure, she thought.
‘I guess .. thank you …’
“Eunjung. Though, I prefer if you call me unnie instead since I’m older. But it’s okay if you don’t want. “ Eunjung gave her a smile, hoping that she sounded nice back there. Well, at least she talked to me again.
Yawn. She has just woken up from her really long slumber. It was a long time ago since she has slept that long. She had wanted to sleep longer but just thinking of all the duties she had to fulfil in the palace, she couldn’t even close her eyes and return to dreamland. Actually, she have an empty…
Sooyoung looked forward to seeing Eunjung for lunch. She wanted to please her taste taster and decided to create a more Korean dish. Sooyoung decided on a favorite dish from her youth, ribs or Galbi. She put together the meal and checked the clock, the hungry bodyguard was to arrive in about ten minutes. Sooyoung hoped Eunjung would enjoy it.
Eunjung was really tired from walking around, doing nothing but to follow the royalist she was serving. Being a bodyguard wasn’t that easy. You have to be where they are, you have to always look after them like a babysitter, you have to make sure they’re comfortable and secured. Tiring but she was happy to at least make her father proud. She looked at her watch and remembered Sooyoung inviting her for lunch. She was really tired and it would be a perfect stress reliever to have something delicious lingering in yor mouth.
She made her way to the kitchen she visited earlier and greeted Sooyoung who was again, cooking another dish.
When Eunjung arrived, the tea had just finished. Sooyoung welcomed her to sit as she poured the tea into the petite cups. She lifted the cover over the two plates on the table to reveal the galbi with rice and kimchi on the side.
“Thank you for coming.I’m glad I made tea. You look so tired!” Sooyoung commented worriedly.
“Thanks for inviting me as well.” She smiled at Sooyoung.
“Well, being a bodyguard is really a tiring job.” She chuckled. She sniffed the aroma of the tea which seemed to be luring her in to having a nice cup of one.
“Hmm.. Tea smells so enticing.” She said as she watch Sooyoung pour the hot liquid on to the cups. Tea was never her favourite but from how good it smells, she might as well add it to her ‘favourites’ list.
“It’s a sweet tea, even though it’s hot. I always find it a disadvantage that they only make sweet tea in ice form. Please tell me if you like it.” Sooyoung said before taking a sip of her own tea. Her job was tiring but probably not as tiring—or adventurous as being a body guard. She hoped that this meal would help Eunjung unwind from her day. Sooyoung was hungry so she began to eat her food, not able to wait for the bodyguard.
“I know it’s not good to toot your own horn, but this is really good!” Sooyoung said, savoring the ribs.
Eunjung took a sip from the cup served in front of her and the sweetness seemed to tickle her taste buds. It was her first time having a hot sweet tea and it didn’t give her a bad first impression, but instead a good one which makes her want to make one by herself too.
“It’s really good. Your creations keep amusing me.” She smiled as she watch the chef eat her own creation in delight.
“Go, just keep eating.” She said as she sip another from her cup.
Eunjung was never late. Never in her life was she noted tardy. But she’s making a difference..today. She never knew that the sleeping pills she has taken last night would make her sleep really good that she has forgotten that she needs to be in the palace atseven sharp. But it has already been an hour after seven sharp. Eunjung was of course, disappointed with herself as she threw the bottle of pills on the ground angrily. She promised that she would never ever touch that bottle again as she dress herself up really fast before dashing to the palace. She’s gonna take a really long talk from her bosses today.
Only one thing’s running in her mind right now, it’s to get there as soon as she can. She was too preoccupied with that thought that she didn’t even see the girl along her way. Eunjung bumped on the girl’s shoulder, making her fall on the ground. Eunjung stopped on her tracks and kneeled in front of the girl.
“Are you okay?” Eunjung asked, catching her breath. Well, she looks like she is but what she was holding looks very far from okay.
Ailee began humming as she walked down the streets, looking for a good place to sit down and relax. Holding her flute, she smiled at it’s beauty hoping that it wouldn’t get dirty in any way. Wanting to learn how to play had been a dream of hers, along with singing. While she was reaching the cafe. She quickly walked towards it hoping to be able to sit there knowing how crowded it could get on certain days. When reaching near the seat, only being a few steps away. She felt someone bump into her with enough force for her to fall. She had let go of the flute, on accident making it fall and shatter into pieces. Ailee groaned a bit, and heard the girl’s voice. I’m fine but my flute isn’t.. She thought to herself and then turned to the girl. “You broke my flute” she said pointing to the broken pieces next to her with tears forming in her eyes. The flute had cost a lot of money, trying to make that much money would take her months.
Eunjung saw the tears forming on the girl’s eyes and she couldn’t help but feel guilty of what she has done. She couldn’t leave her alone like this no matter how awful the thought of getting punished could be. She picked up the broken flute and looked at the girl.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.” She bit her lip, feeling guilty by the second every time she looks at her.

Eunjung followed her and walked alongside with her, alert, just in case she had thought of running away from her. She is sure, she’s not mistaken. She’s definitely from the palace. She may not be inside the premises of the royalties right now but her responsibilities as a…
Eunjung wasn’t quite surprised when the princess broke into a sprint. She was already expecting this to happen. Serving a bunch of royalists for eight years makes her more used to this kind of situations. As a bodyguard, it’s her duty to make the royalist feel safe and secure. Well, she couldn’t blame this princess if she just want to live a life of a normal person. But they should feel lucky that they were given everything they wanted.
She ran after the princess as fast as she can. She was quick, really quick and the thicking crowd wasn’t helping. She has lost her. She stopped as she look around and catch her breath. Fortunately, she was gifted with a 20-20 vision and she was able to spot the person she was chasing entering a mall. She followed after her and hid behind a wall when the girl went to a stop and look around, probably checking if she has lost her.
The sun wasn’t up yet but Eunjung already is. She wasn’t able to sleep well. Actually, she didn’t get any sleep at all. This instance is normal for Eunjung when she’s staying up late in the evening. She’s not sure of the reasons but her system seemed to have its own…
Eunjung couldn’t help but feel bad for the little girl even though she doesn’t know the reason behind her crying. She stare at her from behind, thinking if she should approach and comfort her or leave her and let her have her alone time. Though, Eunjung would have most likely choose the first option, she found herself walking towards her, like there was an invisible string pulling her towards the poor girl.
“You’re gonna wake everyone up.” She said as she sat next to her. Eunjung was never good with making someone feel light and better. She patted the girl’s back, hoping that it would comfort her somehow.
“Does it help? No one has ever done this to me before, so I don’t know how it feels. But I’ve seen people doing this in movies.”
Bomi was a little surprised when she heard someone coming toward her. she doesn’t know what else to do. she was like to be alone, but no doubt she needs someone to share her stories. Eunjung tugged on her coat fixed as she make her way to her new assignment. She felt confident. She have studied all about the things she should be aware of Choi Minki before she slept last night and she’s sure she’s gonna do good… Well, she just hopes so.
Eunjung comes out very serious and…
Ren licked his lips nervously when his dad said he was getting a new bodyguard. He knew he was a prince and as someone like that he did need some protection, especially because of his habit of skipping his schedules when he is too overwhelmed. Although he liked the feeling of being secured, he didn’t like trying to think about a whole new way of escaping from this new bodyguard. It was too troublesome and he had enough of troublesome things in his head for a lifetime.
The girly boy arched an eyebrow when he saw the bodyguard was a she. He didn’t have any type of problem or discrimination with it, but his dad didn’t seem to be someone who would pick a female bodyguard to protect his only son, but if the old man did it, it’s because the girl was really good at her work. When Ren noticed his actions could be considered rude, especially when the girl was polite enough to bow a perfect 90 degree arc, he bowed slightly and briefly.
“I’m counting on your services.”
Eunjung couldn’t help but scrutinize him a bit. According to her research, Prince Choi Minki is a male but the person in front of her is undeniably a female. Well, this girl in front of her could be his sister or his girlfriend, or maybe she has entered the wrong room. Right. All of the doors in the palace are the same, she must have made a mistake.
“I’m sorry for the bother, your highness. I must have entered the wrong room.” She bowed again, apologizing before turning and heading to the door.
Ren arched an eyebrow with the behavior of his new bodyguard and sighed when he noticed what happened. It wasn’t the first time anyway so he wasn’t really mad or hurt by it. He straighted himself awkwardly and glanced at his father before looking back at the girl who was already at the door before speaking in a louder tone so the bodyguard could listen to him.
“Ahn… You’re here for the Prince Ren, aren’t you? If so, you are in the right room.”
Eunjung pinned her nail on her palm as she close her eyes tight, hoping that the darkness she’s seeing will eat her away. What was up with her today? She was sure she had prepare enough, didn’t she? Being the perfectionist she was, she hated herself for making a mistake. She didn’t do good enough which makes her feel that she has failed her father once again.
She recomposed herself before she turned and faced the prince again. Again, she bowed politely while saying her apologies for being rude.
Ren sighed and moved his hand in way to express that it was okay. It wasn’t the first time that he was seen as a girl and it wouldn’t be the last, he was already used to it. It didn’t take long for his father excuse himself and let him alone with his new bodyguard, MinKi cleared his throat after they were left alone and looked around awkwardly.
“So… Your name?”
“Ham Eunjung, your highness.” Eunjung said as she stare at him wondering how beautiful he looked. He was even prettier than the other princesses in the palace. He looks like a goddess..she thought. Or maybe that thought was even an understatement on how lovely the prince even look. Realizing how long she has been staring, she snapped out of her daze as she clear her throat and apologize once more.
“Should we go now?” she asked.
Ren was starting to feel uncomfortable with the gaze of his new bodyguard and looked at the ground before nodding, thanking inside his head that he had a schedule now so that awkward event was over. The boy got out of the room while stretching himself slighty with his bodyguard right behind him, smiling to himself. He was going to a shopping spree because in the next week, there will be a lot of events who requires new clothes and all that stuff. Ren wasn’t a girl, but he liked to spend time to take care of himself sometimes.
“Let’s go, EunJung-sshi.”
“Yes, your highness.” She bowed her head before coming for the door and opening it for the prince. He went out and Eunjung followed. She couldn’t help but think what kind of prince he is as she walk behind him. Well, he look really tame and innocent.I think I wouldn’t have any problem with this guy. she thought.
They stalked to a black shiny car. Once again, she opened the door for him and when she was sure that he was already comfortable in his seat, she shut the door close and sat by the chauffer.
